I’m Michael, founder of BandPocket and leader of Guajirón. I wasn’t trying to build software. I was trying to make our band better.
Born inside Guajirón
The product began with a real band’s weekly work.
Guajirón is the Cuban band I lead. BandPocket grew through 200 gigs and 150 rehearsals across more than 25 venues, supporting 10 core musicians and 15 substitutes and guests while managing more than 70 arrangements. Everyone has a full-time job, but music is never an afterthought.
Guajirón uses and tests BandPocket every week. Late changes, different roles, limited rehearsal time, substitutes, changing venues, and dozens of arrangements expose whether a system supports the real work. BandPocket’s operating assumptions come from using it inside that pressure every week.
BandPocket is designed around busy lives. It helps bands keep progressing and perform at a high level with less confusion and disorder: leaders enter the plan once, important changes stay reviewable, and each musician gets a clear path to the current schedule, assignment, materials, and notes.

How can busy musicians arrive prepared?
Everyone in Guajirón has a full-time job and family responsibilities. Rehearsal time is limited, so we have to be efficient in planning and effective with the time we do have. Streamlining information sharing, staying aligned on every gig detail, and arriving ready to rehearse—sometimes working through 12 songs in one sitting—helped us become the professional, in-demand band we are today.

Why the full arrangement matters
A chart can show the part without showing how it fits.
Cuban music is polyrhythmic: every instrument carries an interlocking pattern. Hearing the full arrangement while following the chart clarifies each musician’s role and helps the band improve faster.
